The judges have declared a winner! The "superimpose weather warnings onto your Smart TV" idea, submitted by Todd Stone, will now be taken on by members of the Dallas Makerspace Civic Hacking Committee as a development project for the next several months.

Important Rule Change - Bring on your ideas!
It's been a busy time for all of us, with many intriguing social activities and other hackathons to attend. Therefore, many folks who were interested in building an idea simply felt like they didn't have enough time or couldn't find a partner.
As such, if there are no actual demonstrations for tomorrow's Judging Day, we will judge short pitches for application ideas. We will award up to one prize: the winning idea will be implemented over the course of the next several months by the Dallas Makerspace Civic Hacking Committee members and other interested area developers.

Work day on April 23, 6-8:30 PM
Todd Stone of the Dallas Micro .NET Users Group will be hosting a hackathon workday for us at Improving Enterprises in Dallas! The .NET Micro Users Group usually meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month. There will be food and drinks provided graciously by the event's usual sponsors, including beer. Kickoff Summary, and other offerings!
Read the notes here from our Kickoff session at the Dallas Makerspace this past Sunday! This summarizes our discussion of application ideas, protocols to use, available hardware, emergency procedures, and three very important reminders:
- Keep it simple!
- Stay within the legal operating limits when broadcasting in areas of the RF spectrum requiring a license!

Ready for kickoff?
Hi everyone,
We have a minor schedule change! Our kickoff will now be held on Sunday, April 20, due to the DFW EXCELLERATE hackathon which will be wrapping up on the 19th. This time change will enable those interested to participate in both. For those unable or too exhausted to make the kickoff on 4/20 (which is Easter after all), I will be at the Dallas Makerspace on Monday 4/21 30 minutes before & after the CCNA class (i.e. between 7-7:30 and 8:30-9 PM) to recap the kickoff.
